Allure Promotions Presents Showcase of the Stars

The largest event of its kind, the Showcase of the Stars is a professional dance show and community charity event to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The event will be held Sunday, May 11^th from 6:00 to 11:00 pm at the Warehouse Entertainment Complex in downtown Raleigh.

The event is the first of many to be hosted by Allure Promotions, a new local organization whose goal is promoting all types of dance. Michael Walker and Jennifer Jabbusch, founders of Allure Promotions, have put a lot of effort into uniting the local dance communities for the first time to create an event that is non-competitive and beneficial to everyone.

So what’s this all about? The Showcase of the Stars features fifteen professional performances and team shows and some open dancing for the guests. “Each of our performers was hand-picked for this event because they are the best at what they do and they are all equally committed to promoting dance as we are”, says Michael. All performers are currently teaching in North Carolina and the majority are from right here in the Triangle. Don’t let that fool you; most of these pros are nationally-ranked, some internationally. Guests will be treated to an array of dance performances including American & International styles of ballroom, Latin, Swing, Shag, a theater arts piece and even some clogging & Bellydancing!

In addition to the performance, Michael & Jennifer of Allure Promotions have plenty of other ‘sideshows’ to keep the whole family entertained. There will be vendors with dance shoes and ballroom dresses, a photographer and even a videographer. Don’t be surprised if you see a magician or caricaturist walking around too.

Not only is the Showcase of the Stars beneficial to the community, but to MDA, the charity chosen by Allure Promotions to receive proceeds from this event in the form of one large donation. “We have put a lot of effort into turning something we love into something that gives back to the community. All the money going to MDA is going to stay in the Triangle for research. There’s going to be a lot of fun ways for guests to help out by making their own donations too. We have Donation Stars, a Dance 4 Dollars and some surprise guest entertainment. Thanks to the Warehouse Restaurant, we can offer a low ticket price and some great food to all our guests!”

The event is open to the public and non-dancers are encouraged to attend. Tickets are just $10 and include the buffet dinner provided by the Warehouse. Tickets and videos can be purchased online at www.allurepromotions.com, from your local dance studio, or at the door. There are a limited number of tickets, so we suggest you grab your soon. The Showcase of the Stars definitely seems to promise a good time whether you want to dance, dine or just sit back and watch!
